North Hertfordshire Ballet

Adult Ballet - Fridays 9.45-10.45am

With a focus on lyrical, waltzy sequences and enjoyment of the music, this class is suitable for adult ballet learners at improver level or above, and those with a good understanding of ballet technique, musicality and vocabulary (at least. two - three years of recent ballet experience or prior equivalent). The class will include barre work, centre practice, simple turns, and gentle allegro, with differentiation to suit learner needs and preferences. Finish your week with some ballet and enjoy a dance workout for body and mind. 

Classes will be offered on a six or seven-week block basis following the Hertfordshire academic terms, with block fees payable in advance at a rate of £8 per lesson.

Charlotte is a qualified, experienced teacher with many years’ experience teaching dance and movement classes. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education and a Graduate Teaching Diploma, holds UK Qualified Teacher Status, and is currently completing an MA in Dance Education. Over the past nine years, Charlotte has undertaken training and CPD specifically for exercise prescription and teaching dance to adults, older adults, and those with conditions such as Diabetes, Parkinson’s, Osteoporosis, Arthritis and Dementia. This includes a Level 5 BTEC Diploma in Sports and Remedial Soft Tissue Therapy (NLSSM 2016-2018), the Professional Award in Adult Dance Practice (Royal Academy of Dance, 2018-2020) and Leading Seated Dance for Older Adults and Dance for Dementia (Green Candle Dance Company, March 2022).
